Spell Czech

Spell Czech is a wonderful tulle four typists. The advent of the computer and sophisticated word processing programs have removed the knead two learn too spell or use a dictionary. We can now just type away and magic little read lines will appear under words that are spelled incorrectly. And know more dealing with those pesky books called dictionaries in order to look up the correct spelling - our word processing program can be set to auto-correct, or will provide us with a dialog box suggesting correct spelling/grammar usage.

Now on the subject of dictionaries: Eye understand that if ewe can't spell a word, looking it up can bee a problem. In that respect, spell Czech is a grate invention. Spelling is a subject we could awl use some help with, myself certainly included, but I propose that wee at least be aware of the fact that having an educated machine assist us in hour compositions still requires some thinking on our part.

The English language is a sneaky one. We must be vigilant at all times so that it doesn't catch us off guard. Most people don't care about my pet peeve, and some think I'm a "Spelling Snob", but just wanted to throw inn my to sense.

Thank ewe and good knight!

Spareribs

Lo, those many years ago when I was in high school, I had a friend/classmate who used the word "spareribs" whenever he came across a word he couldn't pronounce or didn't know. When asked to name my blog, my mind went blank...then the memory of Charles in my English class came back. So, thanks Charles.

My second choice would be "Bob". Once a friend wrote to humorist Dave Barry asking, "Dear Dave: In the past we've referred to decades as the '50s, '60s, '70s, '80s and '90s. Now that 2000 is approaching, what will we call future decades?"

Dave Barry's reply: "We'll call it 'Bob'".

This still cracks me up after 10 years. I wish I could explain it.
